Amy’s Healthier Brownies

These brownies are rich and chocolatey and a definite step up from box mixes or store bought. The unrefined ingredients create a whole brownie experience. Don't believe us? Give them a try! If you're going to bake them with chicken eggs, you would use 3 large eggs, or 1 goose egg.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup organic/grassfed unsalted butter or dairy free butter
  • 1 cup raw unrefined organic sugar
  • 2 fresh duck eggs or just 1 if they are extra large
  • 1 tsp organic pure vanilla
  • 1/2 cup organic cacao powder
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp aluminum free baking powder
  • 1/3 cup organic flour or gluten free organic flour

Method
 

  1. Heat oven to 350°F. Butter or grease an 8×8 baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in sugar, whisk in the eggs one at a time, and the vanilla. Whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in cacao powder, flour, salt and baking powder. Pour into pan and spread evenly.
  4. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes
  5. Let cool and enjoy!
